How do all?

Whn I apply a newly created style in Dreamweaver 4 by highlighting the hyperlink and selecting the style from the styles pop-up box its not applying the Style to the correct place in the HTML. It seems to be applying ?

For example I have highlighted in bold below where DW is applying the style (hope this works?)

If you are gonna run a mouseover effect, you better do it in a CSS document. I have Dreamweaver MX and I dont even fiddle with that sort of thing, I just run it from my CSS. If I understand what you are saying, then that method would be easier. I have no idea how to fix question one... All WYSIWYG editors make modifications to your code, and some do it more than others. Dreamweaver is one of the best at leaving your code alone, but it still messes with it i guess.

Hope this helped?

I agree that you'll have to set up the mouseover effect you want with CSS as a hover style. As for applying the CSS in question one, you know at the bottom of the window panel you get the tags, such as etc, click on the links you want to style then click on the at the bottom and then click on the style in the CSS control panel and that'll apply the style to the link and not put in span.

îþÐ yes that certainly helped. Methinks it's time I relied less on WYSIWYG editors and started brushing up on my HTML and hand-coding.

WM, thanks again for bailing me out.
Great tip that about clicking on the at the bottom.

No problem happy to help any time. It's never a bad thing to learn how to code by hand and then if you want to use DW for speed of building and then tweek the code by hand to get it 100%
