tooltips - standard IE tooltips

I have tried using a javascript popup tooltips script but the script unfortunately conflicted with another mouseover script I was using.

It dawned on me that the normal tooltips in IE are sufficient for what I want to do (using the "alt=" tag)but I want to be able to make the tip remain visible until the user removes the mouse from the image/link which contains the alt="" tag.

Is there a way I can change the time the standard IE tooltips stay visible?

I don't think you can modify the timing of the alt tooltip, but there might be a dhtml script that does something along this line. You might try at http://www.dynamicdrive.com
