Is there a way to block a link?
Forgive my ignorance.
I have just seen this question in another web forum and I am stumped.
Imagine you discover another web site linking to yours, and basically using your content as their own. How would you go about finding out who is doing it and is there a way to block the link?
I think the guy in question with the problem does not have any stats so does not know IP or other addresses on who/where this is happening from.
With an IP address there is Whois and Neotrace etc. but without?

Without an IP address you can always look up the domain name info, then ask their host to shut down their site (and for address info if needed). Or you can always just e-mail the person if you know there address and ask that they remove the content.

Thanks a lot Justin, that's what I thought. I will let the troubled person know, I already informed him to get a stats program going to try and get some info.

You can also block a specific referring URL from accessing your web site.

There is JavaScript to stop them from linking to your stuff inside of frames, if that is what they are doing. You could also use htaccess to ban the IP address of the other server from your domain completely right?

Two suggestions:
First - http://www.imagelock.com/
Second - on every page of your site, add the phrase 'copyright by etc., and include YOUR web site address.
