Hi,

I'm looking for a program (preferably freeware) where I can search a specific piece of html coding throughout a series of selected html pages; that can also replace html coding too.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Sabrina

EditPad will search and replace for all open documents. It won't S&R for all files in a folder (that are open or not) like Homesite, but it's much cheaper. Wink

Just my opinion, worth $0.00001 anywhere on earth.

NotePad does Replace and WordPad will too, and they comes with windows

START => Programs => Accessories => NotePad/WordPad

But they only do one file at a time (the open one).

You could try the CGI forum, and someone might make a scrip that you could use.

If there is no answer on Google, then there is no question.

I think Ultra Edit will search and replace unopened files. Homesite does too - you can download the trial and it never actually stops working after 30 days ... well it hasn't for me anyway.

Nice list! I'll check out each one of them and use the one(s) i like best...

EditPad
Ultra Edit
Homesite

Max, as for your suggestion about using Notepad, I currently use that to make my webpages... and I apparently seem to be stuck using it when searching and replacing html snippets, it takes a long time (sometimes hours) to accomplish lots of searching and replacing!

Thanks for all your suggestions!
Sabrina
