Search function
Does anyone know how I can run a search function (similar to a perl script search on a domain) on a site on a local hard drive (not windows find)? Would a local cgi-bin work (but no path to perl!)?

It might work if you set up your own web server on your machine, of course that can open security risks. You would have to install Perl though. There is one that comes with Win98 but the name escapes me at the moment..I'll post it as soon as I remember.

ActiveState provides a version of Perl for Windows. If you do indeed want to run a webserver off your machine, and need perl, download it at http://www.activestate.com/ActivePerl/
The personal webserver I recommend (and use) is OmniHttpd which can be found at http://www.omnicron.ab.ca
