The only time I have seen it successfully removed is with a pop-up that turns off scrollbars.
Possible solutions include colourizing the scrollbar appropriately in IE, popups, making the page longer so there *is* a scroll bar, or just living with it.

do you mean the gray bar with the arrows where the scroll bar would be?
only thing I know of that you can do is use an onLoad to popup a window with specific properties
try this
onLoad="window.open('http://ik.odyssey.nl/', '3GL', 'scrollbars=no,resizable=yes')"

I did mean that gray bar where the scrollbar would be. Sorry if I did not make myself clear.
But the pop-up solution is not what I'm looking for.
I just want the page to be loaded without that gray bar.
