Refresh "Sound"

Is there a way to disable the sound "click" the machine makes when a page is refreshed?

This might need to go under client side scripting.

I am writing an app that has to do a refresh every 5 seconds or so, and the click is annoying!

Thanks,

If it can be done at all it will definately be a client-side script, although I doubt it can be done. I'd be interested if it can be though, so let me know if you pull it off.

I am wondering. You can't disable the sound but you can possible disguise it if you had some 'white noise' or non-annoying music running in the background as a .wav file looping. It may be something to play around with.

Moving to Web Page Authoring...

Is this a browser specific thing? I only use IE, does it happen in NN?

It happens in I.E. whenever a page is loaded or refrshed.
I do not work with Netscape.

Thanks

It annoys you... not the users?
Do you mean it annoys you while developing?
I get the idea that it's just a preset on your machine. If that's the case then it's not to be altered by HTML, Javascript or a clientside script or whatever else...

If I'm right: Start/Settings/Control Panel/Sounds and Multimedia (for Win2000)

hope it helps you out...
