Refresh or reload page once

I have several images on my pages that have a transparency chosen, yet when the page intially loads, a black background surrounds the graphics. I have to hit the relaod button for the images to reload and then they are fine. Is there a script or refresh tag that would enable the page to load and then refresh immediately? I don't need it to keep refreshing or go to a different page I just need the images to reload.
