reference images in script that moves them on the screen - syntax for local address? (Posted by naup

I obtained a wonderful script at javascript source (snow effect, that "showers" snow flakes randomly on the screen.) I saved the gif that came with it in the same directory as the html file. The script runs locally, but with empty place holders instead of the real image. I tried different way to reference the gif, with no success. Is there a special way to do this?
