problems with *doc downloads - works fine for a few docs - sudden failure

Can anyone help?

My intranet site requires browser access to word documents (opening in the browser window) on a networked drive. Linking to these documents works fine at first, but after downloading maybe four or five it just refuses to do any more.

Please Help - Boss is raging.

I wish I could help, but I don't have much experience in that area. Hopefully, someone here has a better feel for what is happening to your browser on the intranet.
