Prob with vanishing graphics
Hi, hope somebody can help.
I run the website of a local rugby club and am having a few probs with sponsors logos showing on the pages.
All other graphics are fine, it's just these small files, I've tried gif, jpg and PNG all to no avail.
If I open a web page on my local dev machine it's fine but whern I copy it to the server they don't show up. However the twist is they show on some PCs and my PDA.
If I view source the IMG tags aren't even in there yet if I copy the file to my HD it's fine and they are.
It's driving me mental. Any help greatly appreciated. THe site is at reds.co.uk/index2.html - there is a table with them all in situated beneath the main stories.

The files are on the server when you call them directly, so I'd guess that you are having a problem in other ways -- is the whole page loading when the images don't show up? If the page is timing out, the source will look like it just ends.
This page is huge with many images, flash, music and a java applet -- timing out seems the most likely reason for some of that not making its way to viewable.

No the page doesn't time out.
The code loads correctly to the end, just on certain machines the code where the IMG tags should be is not there.
THis is the problem though, they are showing on some machines and not on others.
They show for example on my local machine but when I load the page online they don't, they also don't show on a laptop connected to my network but show fine on my PDA.
I'd have thought it was a prob just at my end but now somebody at the club can no longer see them.
On the main page there should be a table with nine logos beneath the stories... (cebora, thinkdata etc etc) and on the other pages they are in a strip down the left hand side.
Has anyone any clue why they would show on some PCs and not others when all are using IE?
Firewalls?

More likely caches if you have two different versions (one with the logos and one without). Intermittant problems are very hard to track down. Code doesn't disappear when served from the middle of a page, however, so you should assume that those who cannot see the images and report that the HTML code isn't there for them are simply seeing an older or different page that is stuck in the server cache.
They should clear out their caches, talk to their ISPs, et cetera.

Hi,
I have to agree with Suzanne here. Just visited the site and on the indexpage, there are 12 logos and no problems.
