hey guys
i got this strange problem. for a site i had to make several pdf-files (using adobe acrobat 3.01). now if i'd like to view and/or save those files using internet explorer i got an error message saying:

"internet explorer cannot download ... from ...
ie was not able to to open this internet site . the requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. please try later.".

the weird thing is, on some computers it works, on other computers it doesn't. but that's not enough, it sometimes is possible to "open", "open in a new window" or to "save target as" upon a right-mouse-click.

of course, everything works fine all the time when using netscape...

can somebody please help me out?? thanks

Is it maybe because sometimes the server is available and other times it isn't? About the menus- are you using different versions of IE?

These are just guesses by the way

we tested it with ie 5.0 as well as with 4.0. i don't think that the availability of the server is the problem. it really depends on which computer we try it.
for example, on mine it just works with the drop-down-menu by right-mouse-click.
we successfully tested it on two pc's, on two others it never works...

I think IE is just like that, sometimes it works, and other times it doesn't, like most MS programs.
