Page keeps changing layout !!!!!!
Hi,
Unfortunately my site is not online yet but hopefully it will be soon !!!!!
I am designing my site using ms frontpage and trying to learn html, The problem i have at the moment is that my pages look ok when viewed with explorer 5.5 when the display is maximised but as soon as i make the screen display smaller the layout of my site gets rearranged so that i only get a vertical scroll bar, no horizontal scroll bar and eg instead of having a block of links 2x2 i get 1x4.
I hope that i have explained this ok !!!!!!
Thanks in advance for your help
Tony
Before you criticise someone walk a mile in their shoes......
Then, if they don't like what you say they are 1 mile away and barefoot.

It would really help if you could post a link to your site (just get it up somewhere so we can look at it) and let us know what screen resolution you're using.

well, my res is 1600x1200, but I have a 19" monitor
when I had a 15", I used 1024x768.
My opinion... Get away from FrontPage. If you want to learn HTML, looking at source from FrontPage isn't helpful. FrontPage uses a lot of bots to do simple things. It's just a microsoft thing to come up with thier own version of how to do things. Bots are not the standard.
I suggest you get DreamWeaver, or some other WYSIWYG program if you want to learn that way.

If there is no answer on Google, then there is no question.

The most common screen resolution is 800 x 600, so you should at least make sure your pages look right on that. I usually try to go for a scalable layout that will work on as many resolutions as possible. The number of users at each resolution really varies from site to site. My site, for example, has about 12.5% at 640 x 480, 50% at 800 x 600 and I think 24% at 1024 (and the rest at various other sizes)

Use tables(with absolute lengths, not percentages)
and put your content in the tables, and center them that way if your visitors minimize/maximize the window, there will just be less/more white space around the tables, but your site layout will not be affected
hehe
