open page in specific window (without frames)

For my website, I've created a button for the sitemap - the button opens via javascript a new 800x600 window containing the sitemap.
Now, i'd like the links on the sitemap to lead to html pages on the parent window. How do I do this (no frames on site!)?
Please consider that I'm a total javascript newbie.
I'd appreciate any help.....
