There is a tutorial on it at my site, the url:

http://www.pageresource.com/jscript/jhover1.htm

It should work with an image map if you put the onMouseover command in the area tag.

Hi,
I know that the onMouseOver topic has been discussed, but I have gone through all without finding an answer.

I wish to change pictures in one specific area by hovering above 6 different links (NOTE: the links will not change visually they are in imagemap). I have found a site (www.logicept.com) which does all of that, but it also changes the buttons, and that confuses me. Since my knowledge in Javascripting is not good, I can not isolate the parts that I need for myself.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

The information on your 3 pages gave me some clue, but it does not show this scenario (which I'm looking for):

I have 9 links. If I hover above them, they should change the pic in 1 area only. They should show 9 different pics altogether. Link1 shows pic1, link2 shows pic2 etc. All in the same picture area.

I know I'm a slow learner, so please be patient, if the clues are all in there somewhere.

Thanks Leech,

but I managed to work it out. I have posted the source to John Pollock and hopefully he'll put it up at Pageresources (or what the name was Smiling ). It works slightly different than yours, but we cam to the same conclusion I think (although I did not compare the source).

I found the solution! (Well, I think I did, 'cause your explanation was rather complicated Smiling)

Just give me some time, and I'll post a new message with the right code and a URL to the page where you can see it work...
