Newbie question on members only areas and bulletin boards

I'm the webmaster of a non profit flying club in Western Australia, with limited experience. I'm using MS Front Page.
I would like to implement a 'members only' area, where our members can download aircraft details etc, and have a bulletin board where they can swap stories etc.
Any suggestions on how I might do this?
My ISP hosts our pages and I have asked them whether I may need to upgrade to a higher level account.
Our site is curtinflyingclub.com.au
Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi petert,

I'm sure detox covered this, but I figured I'd say it anyway for anyone who decides they might read old threads:

You cannot write any javascript that others cannot see. This means if you want a 'private' or 'members-only' area, you need to implement it through server-side technology -- asp, php, etc. -- not client-side javascript.

If you have limited programming experience, you should try to pick up a ready made cgi scripts/programs and see if your host provider will allow you to put them up somewhere.
