You need to make the vote button submit the user's choice to a database (or some other means of saving the data)

Learning, if you're looking for easy-to-use poll script, I recommend http://scriptme.com/Scripts_Free.html Sme Poll. I use it on some of my sites and it works great. It's free too. The readme file is a little hard to understand, the developer is not a native english speaker, or typer.
