I want to use a live web cam to offer periodic live demos to help promote my site and products (no not sex! ).

I have questions:

1) My ISP uses dynamic IP addressing so I can't just publish my IP and date/time of broadcast. And I don't want to spend the money for a dedicated IP. Any thoughts?

2) Which web camera and software should I use? I was looking at Creative Labs Webcam3, CuSeeMe and Quickcam. I know CuSeeMe lets you have multiple people all connected, not sure about the others.

I don't know how well this will go over so I'm not looking to sink a lot of money into it right now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd like in on this thread as well. I've been asking around among the motocross tracks and offroad groups in Texas about setting up webcams and internet connections for live broadcasts for several months now. With the new bandwidth we are going to see over the next year or two, the possibility of "TV" quality live feed is becoming very real. Anyone got any hard numbers and solid links to equipment and software and server connections? I realize the dial-ups can't really handle quality streaming webcam traffic well yet, but, I'd like some stuff to research.....Bobby

While doing it via my site's server would be great, at this time I don't want to pay for the real-video streaming. I was hoping to run it off my own PC (the server runs Linux, the PC runs Win98).
