Javascript error - Loss of Javascript from HTML page

Can anyone tell me why i cannot view the javascript functions that i have defined in my HTML document. If javascripts have been firewalled does this stop the script from being viewed. I can understand that it wouldn't be run but not being able to view it. I keep getting the Javascript error saying certain objects are not defined.
Is there anyway to incorporate the whole function on one line where a definition isn't required???
