Hello there,

I hope I can ask those questions here in this forum. I would like to ask the following:

1) what's the best kind of video format for a video clip of a advertisement clip?

Info: I have to tell the person who creates the video, what kind of format I need for the Homepage.

2) is it enough to use the free (???) Microsoft Media Player?

3)how big is too big? I mean what's the best datasize to have someone look at the video?

4) do you have any idea, how to include (Code) a video clip onto my homepage?

Whow! thanks a lot for your help.

Nicoletta

Do you want to streem the video of the server or do you want to have the user download the video first?

Well, I want to opt both ways: to view it online and to download it.

Hmmm

With all streaming media i have made in windows media format you cant download a streem you only save a shortcuut to the streem Sad

Real player streems can be downloaded only if you right click on the link and click "Save target as"

I whuld sugest you encode the file once for streeming at a lower quallity and have a higher quality one for download Smiling

Streeming format =
Windows Media = "ASF or advanced streeming format"
Realplayer = "ra"
Quicktime = "mov" i never used but from my experence it doesent streem well Sad

Downloadble format =
MPEG good file sice but more compression = worse quality
(quicktime)MOV = ok file size quality picture
AVI ="not very compressed larg files good quality"
