IE5 and anchors in target frames - works in Netscape 4.x, but......
I *thought* I had finally hit on a clever way to send viewers past the annoying banner ads at GeoCities while still displaying them on my pages. I put the target page in a frame with an anchor like [excuse brace, but I need to display pseudo HTML] {a name="here"}{/a} below where the banner ad code is.
The master frame sends the viewer to this point with something like {frame src="whatever.htm#here"}. Any one who seriously *wants* to see the ad can simply scroll up a tiny bit This works just great in Netscape 4.x and I thought everything was fine until I got a copy of IE5. No dice. It ignores the anchor targeting entirely and simply starts at the top of the page. Sigh....
Is there a fix for this or (preferably) a more general solution that will work with both browsers?

I don't tend recommend bypassing the ads on a free web page service. It could get you booted from the service if they find out.
I can't really tell you more about fixing it without the url of your page. I couldn't find it in your profile..if you get it posted, pehaps I can be more helpful.
