Help, CSS won't go away

I've created a website that is about 30 pages, without (intentionally) using CSS at all. I am using dreamweaver MX to create the site. Most of the pages allow me to change the font, text size, and color, etc. through dreamweaver using standard HTML commands, ie. text size -2, text size +1. Some of the pages, however, will only allow me to edit text size using css. The only options for changing text size are small, x-small, large, etc. Whenever I change something on the page from default, a new css style is defined. I don't want to use css, but can't seem to get away from it. Any ideas on why this is happening? All these pages were created from a single template that I made, and kept adding content to while resaving with a new file name, so I can't figure out why some are behaving differently. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
