Having Netscape load troubles - need help
About a month ago I noticed that some of my site's pages didn't display entirely when viewed with Netscape 4.x. The home page loads well but not always the others, especially the catalog pages. The page banner would display fine but the rest of the page didn't display. A click on VIEW PAGE SOURCE showed everything was being loaded but it wasn't always being displayed. Sometimes I had to hit reload several times to get it to be viewed.
At first I thought it was the PC I was using (Netscape 4.0 on NT). It has always been a twichy machine. But now I find I'm starting to get the same problem with Netscape 4.7 on Win98. And I don't have this problem viewing other sites.
This concerns me.
To my knowledge IE 4.x and 5.x are OK but about 30% of my visitors use Netscape. No one has said anything to me about it but that doesn't mean they aren't having the problem too.
What am I doing wrong? Are my cache meta tags improperly set? Or is it just a bug in Netscape.
Thanks!

Without seeing your page I can't know for sure.
A couple things for you to check. Netscape is real particular about closing tags.
1. Look at table tags. Particularly </TD> tags that are missing or nested strange.
2.Closing tags on javascript and A HREF tags.
Also Netscape doesn't like nested tables sometimes. Particularly if #1 applies.
If you continue to have problems post a url for us.

Thanks Jim. That could be it. My catalog pages all have tables, often with nested tables. There's shouldn't be any missing </td>'s as I use a code generator but who knows.
Take a look at http://artsnflies.com/pages/lobster.shtml for an example. This is an example of a page that I sometimes have to reload several times before it fully appears. It's one of the "smaller" pages on my site.

I ran the page through my favorite online tool. http://www.netmechanic.com/
It found several errors on your page. The ones I would focus on are the center tags not closed.
Try going to netmechanic and see if this helps.
By the way I run all my pages through it to reduce image size.
Hope this works out for you.
