Having issues in IE 8.0

I am working on a Wordpress template. I downloaded the template from a website but I am trying to change the header. Everything looks good in Firefox and Flock but when I load the page in IE 8.0 it's a mess.

I am attaching a txt file of the html of the page. If you see anything that could be causing the problem please let me know. I am going buggy here as I can't figure the issue out.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!

I wouldn't bother about IE 8 if I were you. The browser is in early development, and is bound to change substantially before final release.

I had a look at this site in every browser I could think of. Including Opera, Firefox 3, Safari, Konqueror, IE7 and it looks fine in all of them. Unfortunately am not going to start using IE8 until I have to, as it will not work alongside IE7 on the same Windows installation.

Basically I wouldn't worry about IE8 yet. It's not out yet, it's going to take a long time for people to upgrade, and even longer for all sites to fix their HTML/CSS to work with it. Smiling

You can set IE 8 to switch to IE 7 rendering mode, so you can use both on the same machine.

I agree with the others about IE 8. My sites are messed up too but I won't worry about it until it gets closer to final release. IMO they've got some serious problems if rendering of sites that work in other standards compliant browsers is this messed up (unless there's a lot of IE version-specific hacks which I tend not to use...)

You could check to see if there are any IE conditional comments or hacks and set them so they only display for IE 7 or lower.
