Handling CSS Differently

As you know, IE and Mozilla handle CSS differently. I have my header div set to 700px. In IE, I have to set my wrapper divs width to 706px to allow for a 3px border. This means that in Mozilla, there is 6px of white space following the content in my header div. Is there any way to have no white space, but not have the header div cut in front of the wrapper div without using alternate style sheets for IE and Mozilla?

MMM. Seems if I just get rid of those 6 extra pixels it looks fine in both.

Hey Dragon of Ice dude,

I'm sorry that this is completely off-topic but I just visited the website in your signature. It doesn't bother me one bit but just FYI, there was a case a few years back of a kid doing pretty much exactly what you're doing. He was asking for voluntary donations from strangers to raise money for college and he was arrested and charged with pan-handling. Have fun with it but just something to think about.

I'm not too worried, but I do realize that there may be some legal issues. I did a bit of research, and I file the donations as gifts, which are not taxed up to around 20,000 dollars if memory serves. There are plenty of sites with similar content, so that's another reason not to be concerned. Thanks for the heads up though!

Ahhhh css and IE... there ought to be a law! Roll eyes

I think you're going to get a lot of good use out of this page http://www.positioniseverything.net/articles/hollyhack.html

btw You'll want to learn and understand the Box Model Hack http://www.positioniseverything.net/articles/box-model.html if you need pixel perfect placement.

Welcome to the "IE was just designed to frustrate me" club. Wink

Best of luck with it!

gotta finish redesigning my sites so I can show them again.
