A few problems with Joomla
Hi, I have recently installed Joomla, and have the following problems...
Primary Issue = Banners:
I have created a banner, and it should be displaying, but it doe'nt. I have tried it on several templates, with no satisfying results.
Secondary Issue = Login System:
The login system fails. It times out. The admin login is fine, just the user login on the nav-bar.
Hope you can help cuzz I am fed up of swapping back and forth, I just wanna start my website properly.
Thanks in Advance.

Have you tried on the Joomla! forums at all? There's a greater chance someone on there will know of the problems you're seeing.

Jeeves, I have given up on my own judgement. Do me a favour and take whatever I say with a pinch of salt.
I cannot back Joomla as far as I can throw them.
I have fallen back on the old and very reliable e107. (If it aint broke, don't fix it) very true.
Joomla problems went un-fixed, but I'd rather debug a worthy CMS, like Drupal or e107.
Hope your well, Reece.

Well all CMS are good for different reasons, and no CMS is going to perfectly match your needs. That's really how Free software works, it only works if people make it work for them, then contribute their changes back for everyone to use. I'm sure Joomla! has it's strengths and weaknesses, but if e107 is a better fit for you, go forth and use it.
Site looks fine! Seems to work well, fast, looks good. If you want a full review then you should probably post in the critiques area. Might not want to do that until it's finished though.

Yeah, I have a habit for posting in the wrong forums
Thanks for your feedback, and I have made a vow to stick with e107, it is fine, I was just being greedy looking for new software. I figured, spend less time searching, and more time building, i'd get much further.
Thank again.
Regards from Reece.

I've wasted so much time doing this. Looking around: 'Oooh but that software is more shiny! But what about this...' Entire days wasted, it can get really irritating too, like everything seems to almost do what you want, but not quite. Grrrr.
