<embed> tags

I'm not sure if this goes into newb... but why isn't playing .rmi's? Is it because the server needs the right MIME headers?

Also when I use the same tag for Midi which displays a nice control panel:
You need a new browser that allows embed

I substitute that with an mp3 and voila! The control panel disappears, but... that isn't what I want. How would I get the CP to show in a MP3?

This is going to be a really fuzzy answer but I'll do my best. My inclination is that most browsers don't natively support audio file formats other than midi. You can embed a real player window if you want (dig around the real.com site, maybe you'll find something there). I have never seen an mp3 embeded in an HTML file like that though. What you could do is use Flash to stream the mp3 and fake a control panel for it in there. Obviously there will probably be some serious download speed issues involved with this.
