Easy question - open outlook
Hi thier im new to this forum
Hope im posting this in the correct place
Basicaly im setting up a intranet for a school
I want thier to be a link on the home page of intranet so that when the student or staff click on the link...it opens up microsoft outlook that is installed already on the system
How can i go about doing this..is thier any codes or something
please help

you can place a link on the page like this:
<a href="mailto:{emailaddress}">Send Mail</a>
' to have it open the default browser and start a new message to {emailaddress}.Don't know if there is a way to directly launch just the application.

Hm... not too sure if this will work, or if you should do it, but, try linking to the actual .exe file.

i tired that here, i don't have outlook, but tryied it just to open Word, and it didn't work with IE.

i think you have to add file:// to the start of the link

Ye i think file:// would work and then do what Renegade says.
