Drupal or Joomla?
Hey, i am in a rush, so here goes...
I currently have Drupal, but hate it, and am somewhat attracted to Joomla!
Is this a good idea to swith?
I require user feedback on both products, not just personal oppinions.
Thanks in Advance.

Well, if you hate it, don't use it. I've never used Joomla! but Drupal is a great system: very modular, and written well.
Just use whatever you want to use. They're pretty comparable systems, each have their strengths and weaknesses though. Joomla! is easier, but not as modular or as nice to hack for experienced users as Drupal. Drupal's support isn't as good as Joomla! though.

Hi JeevesBond. Yeah, I noticed, but I have been forced to abandon Drupal for a reason your have surly experienced.
The Roles. If several users have the same role, then everything start getting messed up for some reason.
Lets say i assigned "Staff" role to "Bill" & "Bob", whoever was at the top of the DB table in that role, would have his Username displayed on everybodies accounts instead of their own.
It was too risky, a massive security hole could set me back months.
Thanks for your help, and it was a bit of a stupid question. I have tried Joomla, and cannot say it is any better than Drupal. I liked drupal for it's user-friendlyness, but joomla was horrible.
I am using a CMS called "e107" right now, and that caters for every need.
I figured Drupal was more a forums or blogs (Like TWF)
My site is currently down for maintenance, but I estimate about 2 month before we get back online.
Thanks for reading my rant, and keep up the good work. I am still advertising you, as if it were not for TWF, i would not be where I am today.
Thanks Again, Reece.

Weird, never experienced a problem like that. Sounds like something is messed up on that install, possibly theme related. Does the same thing happen with the default theme?
Thanks, and no problem.

Yes, I stuck to "Garland" theme, and it still happens, both Authenticated default role, and custom roles. I have installed the CMS 3 times, and still no luck.
It's OK, I have posted a report on the "Bugs" forums on drupal.org.
Gracias por esta información.

I use two systems. Drupal is more "proffessional". You may need more experience if want to make something complex in drupal. Joomla is more easy. That is my experience

Hi JeevesBond. No, unfortunatly, i uninstalled Drupal a while ago. But if you want to read my bug report, here is thr URL:
http://drupal.org/node/214261
Sorry Jeeves, I would have kept it, but I only purchased 5 GB, and drupal was inergrating with so many apps that it had a combined size of about 2GB, so i had to get rid of the lot. I know you understand.
If this report answers anything, let me know

Totally, use whatver you want to use.
Those Drupal guys can't seem to reproduce the problem though and it's certainly nothing I've ever heard of (or experienced) so that bug is probably going to languish.

Do you think its worth re-installing drupal on my test server until they have investigated the problem?
(Knowing my luck, it will probably work fine)

It would be cool if you could help diagnose that bug. A screenshot might help too, give people an idea of what to look for.

That should be no problem. I will finish configuring the Staff Page, then I will get to work. I am currently using E107, and I dont care what anybody says about it, it is amazing. It caters for my (and my visitors) every need.
Ok, Jeeves, I will install drupal, but first off, I shall finish this small project before I get to work. It should not take more than half an hour to get the whole thing, plus examples working. I shall post you the link when it is done.
Keep up the good work.
