DHTML Conflict - New Script added and Menu doesn't work now?

Hi Folks

I have two separate pieces of DHTML on my Site.
One is an Opencube Quick Menu and the other is cross-browser marquee script II from Dynamic Drive.
Each works independently but since I've added the marquee script the Quick Menu no longer functions. Is there a conflict between and the two and how do I resolve it please?
Thanks in anticipation

well since he didn't ask us if we thought a particular part of the site should be used, we should instead try to answer his question. So how about those scripts?

I'll back Andy up on the marquee thing... They look terrible and browsers apparently render and re-render them at just the right frequency to give susceptible persons an epileptic fit.

An addition - I just looked up the 508 guidelines:

Quote:
Pages shall be designed to avoid causing the screen to flicker with a frequency greater than 2 Hz and lower than 55 Hz.

Flickering pages or images are distracting and can trigger certain types of epileptic seizures. Avoid using javascript or DHTML effects that make the page flicker. When possible, avoid animation.

Avoid using the BLINK and MARQUEE tags if possible. Marquee text is often read by a screen reader one letter at a time as it appears on the screen.

I'll get down from my "high-horse" now Laughing out loud

well I am not saying that I particularly like MARQUEE but I was just trying to say lets try to help him resolve the problem and leave our opinions for the critique area.

Came back to say the problem has now been resolved and it seems I may have been a little hasty in my choice of script? Sad

So what's an alternative for a rolling, news text section of a site please?
Nothing too complicated mind.
