design problem on AOL - Problem with AOL color shift
I'm having a bizarre problem with white on my background image which is a different shade when viewed on AOL.
The URL is:
www.e-divorces.com/homgree2.htm
I have a background image which, according to Fireworks, is pure white ("FFFFFF") and it looks pure white on all browsers not using AOL.
I also have some images on top of that which are pure white GIFs, just as place holders used for a rollover, and one JPEG (They look white no matter what browser).
Problem is, although the place holding GIFs (and edges of the JPEG) are pure white according to Fireworks, they show up against what's "supposed" to be a pure white background image when using AOL!
Everything actually looks fine on non-AOL browsers, but when using AOL one sees: (1) The background is off-white (either lavendar or green, depending on the computer); and (2) consequently, the supposedly "invisible" GIFS and edges of JPEG are showing up.
Any ideas on what the heck is happening or how to fix?
Thanks.

Welcome to AOL;) Have a client that uses AOL and it drives me crazy sometimes on what I see and what she sees.
My suggestion would be when you export the background from Fireworks, make the white area of the gif transparent (Select Index Transparency) and it will make everything white transparent and let the white background under that show through. Only thing I can think of.
