Does anyone know which browser versions (how far back) recognize external css files?

Obviously, this adds in who did the post and I thought I was gonna do something good. Wink

Thanks John.

So for the few out there who are still using v 3 browsers ( I get 1 or 2 a day), should I put some of the basic formatting in my <body> tags, ie background, etc? or should i just put a statement at the bottom of the page with links telling people to get the latest browser or just let them go along in blissful ignorance? Wink

As far back as I can remember is 4.0 on IE (I think) and 4.? on NS. I'm not sure if NS got it at 4.0 or needed an update or two first. Also, IE 3.x had some style capabilities, but I'm unsure on the external issue. I'll see if I can dig up a comatibility page someplace and post the url for you. Smiling

Write a little javascript so that if they come to your page with a less than 4.x browser, a javascript alert pops up telling them that they are missing out and to go to www.microsoft.com or whatever. Fairly simple javascript, if you don't know how post and i'll write it.
