what are you applying it to? - e.g., border properties have no effect on tables and table cells in N4

border-left: 1px solid #000000;
typos are evil. this will have some problems in Netscape, including weird little squares if you use it for a form, no display for table borders, with an extra space for div and p elements so it looks like a floating border.
