Character returns in notes field not working

I have a form which calls a simple php script.

All the script does is send the form results as an html formatted email.

Everything transfers just fine except for the notes field. Here, the character returns don't get transferred so you end up with one massive paragraph of text, instead of several smaller paragraphs.

Any ideas?
