Changing the Mouse Icon On a Page?

Hello,
I'm looking to change the mouse icon to a different set of images(one for over the page..another over the text, etc.), and I haven't had any luck finding any code for it. I've only seen it done on one page....but lost that page so I can't use that as an example(and don't know enough javascript to do it myself...infact, I don't know any javascript at all...).

Anyone able to help?
Thanks,

Im not sure, but I think it can be done with CSS.
To get a hand-cursor you should do something like:

.drag{cursor:hand}

But again: Im not sure.

I'm not trying to make it a hand...or a crosshair or an hour glass. I've found code for that.....what I'm trying to do is make the different mouse icons(the hand..pointer..etc.) be something else. I've seen it done on a site before....they had this pointer with a butterfly on it(only site I've seen that did this). Problem is, I dont' know where that site is so I can't see how they did it.

I take it no one knows how?

Let me refrase what I'm looking for(and haven't yet found).

I don't want to have the curser change to an hour glass or whatever over text or an image...I want all that to be default. But, instead of having the default hand or pointer or cross-hair or hour glass, etc, I want to show custom ones.

Otherwise, I want the mouse pointer to work and funciton as normal, just using the images for the mouse pointer that I have.

I'm sure the people on this board would know where to look before I would...I already checked where I normally look for stuff before I came here, and I just found the stuff to change a curser to a hand..or a cross hair..etc.

Tallon,
I may have found an example of what you are describing. The URL is http://www.geocities.com/Baja/Ravine/6644/wcstandings.html
Although it is a Nascar site, I think it is basically what you are looking for. Is this what you mean? I realize you will be wanting diferent images, but I think is the general idea you have described. Unfortunately, I have no idea as to how this is done. But perhaps now some viewers can go to this page and can help you out once they see what you are describing. That is, of course, if this IS what you are talking about.

Another idea might be to try to contact the webmaster of the site. Maybe they will point you in the right direction. It is certainly worth a try. I hope this helps in some way. Good luck on this project. I went to your site and the graphics are outstanding. Did you create the console? It looks great! Good luck!

This is done with Comet Cursor.

I am not sure how you make the files/embed them, but I have narrowed it down a bit Smiling

I think it is annoying when people do that though...you should stay away from that I think.

You are only limited to that what you think you can do.

Thanks everyone for your help. Incidently....about the same time I read the last few posts...my friend found the same site through Dynamic Drive(I always forget to check there...)

abahta...if this was a business page, or a page I was making for someone else, I wouldn't even think about putting in another curser. But, it's my own page for my starcraft clan, so I'm having fun with it =).

new2this...Yes, I created all the graphics on my site, and thx for the comments =). I am sure I'll be doing this stuff for a living...only learned the graphics for like 3 weeks...then I started on my page.

OK, that's not bad to use it for a gaming clan. You don't want "the professional look" too much for a site like that.
Nice to have fun too!

Good Luck!
