can any1 suggest a good page editor?
hihi all
I ve just install teh basic Agora shopping cart on my site, and trying to modify it, but i ve hit a prob with editing it, everytime i open a .inc file with dreamweaver by renaming it to a .htm file ( i guess thats ok right?) and then renaming it back to .inc after i finish the whole things just goes belly up when i upload it to my host, it occured to me that after 2 days messing around with it that ultradev is inserting some extra code or doing something to it everytime i open it up.
As i have finally managed to open it up with word pad and use fs_ftp to uplaod it on some minor changes, i than rearlise i now need a good editor for this, can any1 suggest one for me ? me be GUI base as im blind as a bad with codings or that theres and easier way for me to edit this without DW.
Thx a mill

I have edit it and upload it in ASCII, but somehow the codes i have cut from DW to my Wordpad mod page after ftp is still messing things up.

It's crucial to not have poor attention to detail. This is lethal when editing scripts where a simple semi-colon can crash a server.
DW has a text editor built in that handles "scripting" files just dandy and should handle the line endings as well (\r\n).
Error messages like "goes belly up" are not helpful for troubleshooting. Provide an url and sample original and changed code if you want actual help. Attempting to find a different tool won't help you at all if it's your process, not the editor. Thousands (millions) of people use DW to edit their sites without these types of issues.
