Browser feature request help finding
I have gone through many books in javascript and checked out some dynamic html features too to find a way that I can tell when a user clicks on the bookmark/favorites feature of there browser so I can commite a different website for them to have as there bookmark. The reasin being is, I have and create all my websites on my server and use coldfusion which none of the free webspace hosts out there, that I know of, support, and I prefer to keep it on my machine. But I do not have a set IP address, and I have developed a few coldfusion templates to get my server side IP address and saving it in a database and then recreating a redirection web page to place on yahoo, so that they can be directed to my server with out them really knowing it:) but my biggest problem is, if a person bookmarks a page on my server, and the IP address may have changed since the last time they had been to my server, so there link would be broken and they would get an error. So I wish to know how I can detect a user marking the page as a reference in there browser, and then have the refrence page saved as there bookmark, and even to make it more complex a correct refrence to the page they wished to bookmark:)
If anyone can help me out, I will be very appreciative.
(sorry about my spelling, it isn't the greatest at times)

Im not shour it this will help
but have you seen http://www.yi.org ?
From what my friend told me you get a "username".yi.org address and then you run a little script thing on you computer, whenever you connect to the net it sends your current ip to the server and redirects your yi address ti you ip?
Hop it helps

Thank you, but I built a cure script for my ales. I used coldfusion to run a javascript page that grabs the source IP address oon my server, then it checks it against a database of the currect IP address, and if it is different it writes a html page and uploads it to geocities for my gateway, cheap, easy and FREE:D
