Auto-launching an HTM or ASP page from email
Hi,
As far as I know it's not possible. At least not with normal Javascript & HTML. If it is possible, it probably involves some sort of tie-in with Outlook and the other mail programs.
The best (I know of) you can do is include an href link to the page and ask the user to click the link.
Besides, if it were possible, people would use it to direct you their adult-only sites or to a site where you are endless looped through a banner click-through. So...the rumors are either wrong or they have to do with "virus" type techniques.

I've never seen this done but I've heard rumors that it is possible - no one seems to know how to do it though (assuming it is possible)!
The concept is to send someone an email and then when they click on it, it launches their browser and directs to an HTM or ASP form for data entry.
IT seems like one of the big bugaboos is getting through a firewall that probably strips headers and such and distills the email down to plain ASCII text.
Anyone out there have any ideas?
Thanks!!!

You may very well have confirmed my suspicions which I held for exactly the same reasons. Seems like a "virus solution", however benign, would either not work or not be a good idea either.
Thanks for your input!
