Hi, (hope I'm posting this in the correct forum)
I'm looking to add a search function to a few sites I've done, and I'm wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction? I've done a little research on it, but not quite sure where to begin. Basically I'd like one that is part of the site, and not one of those free services like Bravenet, Google, etc. I'm still new to many areas of website design, so please bear with some silly questions. Now, I'm guessing there is a server side script involved? Anything to get me started would be appreciated.
Thanks! Smiling

The do-it-yourself way is through a database, then your search can be set to the articles, titles, id's ... whatever you have.

A third party script like google or atomz ... are free and they scan the pages for you and keep it all in their database

Creating your own search is a pretty hard task. I would strongly recommend you take a look at http://www.echoarticles.com/echosearch/index.php.
