If you're currently using Windows 95/98/ME then do the upgrade, it's a much more stabe OS than those. If you're on Windows 2000, then it can be a tougher decision.
At first the new heavy graphical look didn't look right to me, but it has grown on me.
I am debating upgrading - but to get the Professional version like I'd have to with 2K currently, the price is a hefy $100 bucks more at $199. Don't know if it's worth it - especially since I'm running fine on 2K and only have been using it for four months.
I've been using it for a few weeks now and I have to say at first the new graphical look really threw me right off, but you can change the look.. So graphically, it's better. However, the more I've been using it, the more I've realize that it is quite a bit slower. I'm coming from using 98 on my home pc to xp and xp is slower.. just to do simple things like bring up a menu and I'm running a p4 on a gig of ram and it's lagging. Also there are some file types it doesn't recognize and won't show.. that pissed me off a bit..

My dad just installed it on our main computer. I like how it looks and I like being able to choose a little graphic for your log in...I choose the frog!...LOLOL I do think it is a tad slower though. One thing that I do like is that we have a lot of games on our computer and before for certain ones when we had Win2K, you had to reboot and go to 98 to play some games...now all of our games work under XP. One thing that was kinda useless is the multiple logon things...we disabled that and it ran faster! Overall I like it!

I haven't used it and I refuse to. They're trying to take dos, that's the only stable thing!
