Water cooled CPU
My linux workstation/small server puts out enough noise to deafen me
I currently have a regular heatsink/ball bearing fan on the CPU, but I might switch to a water cooling system soon
Does water cooling cool effectively?
Is the water pump quiet?
Can I remove the graphics board's fan and tap the line from the CPU to cool the graphics board too? (probably not)
Thanks

You can cool your CPU, PSU, graphics cards, and hard drives. Maybe more. I've never used a water cooling system, but I hear they're great.

It probably wouldn't help that much since usually it is the power supply that puts out the most noise. You can get power supplies that are easier on the ears. I have one by PC Power and Cooling that you can't tell that it is running when it is on.
PC Power and Cooling makes the best but they are pricey.
Directron has a nice selection of quiet ones.

The noise of your power supply can be fixed by getting a new power supply or by replacing the fan inside (dangerous) If you have never taken a power supply apart or are accident prone etc, do not do this because you can be shocked etc. There are many thing inside there that are harmful.
Water cooling is very efficient in cooling. the water pumps vary in noise but are pretty quiet. Usually systems to cool your cpu, graphics card, etc are pricey. I would reccomend cooling your computer using some quiet fans rather than water cooling.
Heres why:
Water cooling, if not insulated or installed properly will cause condensation to form inside your computer. Water + computer parts = BAD. Only if you are overclocking your cpu would I recomend this extreme way of cooling. Also it is cheaper to buy 3 silent fans and a better power supply rather than an entire water cooling system.
Hope it helps
