Is it just one browser or did you try it in a different one? Also try clearing your cache.

Go to Start -> Run. Type in 'cmd' and hit enter. Type in the following:
ping facebook.com
Post back whether you get ping timeouts or not.

Go here in your computer:
My Computer (\ means folder)
\windows\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS
Open that HOSTS file in notepad and copy and paste the contents here.
(don't worry about IP addresses or other data, no-one can do anything with the info in there)
Do pr0gr4mm3rs suggestion too, as one might reveal something the other doesn't (although I suspect they will both reveal the same thing)

This is frustrating!
ok so when I ping the request does not time out. It appears to be sending and receiving fine.
WHen I open the \host file in notepad it only gives me a sample...?
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost

OK, that cancels out those possibilities!
(The host file is fine)
IF you don't have issues with any other sites at all, then I would suggest (probably) your PC, OS and internet settings (etc) are fine.

Is it ALL pages of Facebook? Try some of these as well as the email address link I've given below

Perhaps try sending Facebook an email?

Also, I have to ask, do you live with parents? If yes, is it possible you have some sort of filter/software to block out certain sites and someone has added Facebook?

Try shutting down your firewall (and other similar internet security software you might have) and see if you can access Facebook then. If yes, you have settings in your firewall (other software) that blocks the site.

When you said you deleted internet history (etc) did you do it from the browser? As sometimes you need to go into the folder and remove some from there (they don't get removed otherwise)
To delete temporary internet files (safe to do) (this is for XP - Vista and others will vary slightly):
You might need to make them available as (I think) they are hidden by default:
In My Computer, click on Tools menu (top), click Folder Options, click View tab.
Scroll down that list and make sure "Show hidden files and folders" IS checked and "Hide protected operating system files" is NOT checked, both are near the top (ignore the pop-up warning).
(You can set these back after deleting files if you wish)
Close all browsers and anything else you can (except firewall and antivirus)
My Computer -> \Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
Highlight all and press delete (or right click and choose delete)
Same with:
My Computer -> \Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp
My Computer -> \Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\Local Settings\history
For TEMP it might tell you there are some you cannot delete (don't worry , they are simply in use, like antivirus etc), remember the file it tells you can't be deleted, click OK on pop-up warning message, hold down CTRL key click the one it stated you cannot delete (will un-highlight them individually)
Click delete again, repeat until it deletes all it will let you.
You can delete cookies, but you may loose login passwords you have saved per site (but not ones you have stored in your browser)
My Computer -> \Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\Local Settings\cookies
Try all that and report back. I have something else you can try after doing all that!

HI,
I've deleted browser and folders history, I disabled Noton to see if that would help, and I checked the privacy settings. None of that worked.
It is every page in facebook that doesn't really work anymore. And it is only facebook. I have tried various browsers and it does the same thing. I don't understand!
I can have both tabs open, one tab brwosing the internet and looking at stuff very fast while the other one is "trying" to load facebook. grrrr
I will try to email them for help as well

Does it EVER load any page from Facebook?
It's a VERY different matter if you can connect eventually however slow, as opposed to NEVER connecting.

Hi,
It may be the administrator of facebook blocked your IP or not permitted to access facebook page on your IP address .Try to use other IP and check facebook page open in your browser or not.
