strange thing happening
didn't know where to post that, so i chose this corner...
well, i have to PC to work with in my office, one is a notebook connected to the internet over ethernet and isdn, no proxies. the other is a desktop behind a very strong firewall, using our companies-proxies.
that was the prolog.
now the story:
two days ago, i tried to visit a site one posted in the critique-area. i got a server-not-found-error. today i tried it again with another site. same thing happened. i used my notebook for that (isdn, ethernet, no proxies)
coming to the strange thing:
i realized, other people haven't had any difficulties visiting those two sites. i tried to visit them over my desktop-pc and - didn't get any errors...
epilog:
i don't know why, but somehow my notebook refuses to visit some sites. do you have any idea, why this could happen? (i'm not using any filtering-software)

Merlin, that is one of those things where you scratch your head and think you are crazy. I have seen the exact same thing posted several times elsewhere. I don't think that an explanation was given. I will try and find out. A couple of questions. Are you using the same browser? Are you trying to access them at the same time of the day? Do you get a 404 error or does it just not load?
