Sound problems
Okay, so I had that old computer, re-installed windows and everything and now it's not playing sound at all. It's not even showing the sound icon in the task bar. I'm thinking it's because there's no driver for the sound card??? Do you think that's right? If so, how do I go about getting a driver for it? I don't have a disk - I don't think I ever did but I may have lost it along the way. I had that thing for 3 1/2 years.

It probably is a driver problem.
Do you know what card it is? (ie Sound Blaster Live)
-Hold the Win button and press Pause. (Or, go to Control Panel and then System)
-Device Manager tab
Do you see anything under "Sound, video and game controllers"?
Do you see any question marks (these mean unknown device)?

If there is no answer on Google, then there is no question.

There was two things under "sound, video and game controllers" - one being a gaming controller, the other I'm not sure what it was but didn't seem like sound card. I didn't see any question marks but I don't remember for sure.
He's (the person I sold it to) is going to have someone else look at it - a friend of his who apparently knows what he's doing so I might get back to you.
