some days, I just can't decide which forum to post in - move if necessary.

Can Netscape 6.x coexist with 4.x? Multiple versions have never been a problem in the past but thought I'd check before I download/install. It's about time I got a peek at the thing I suppose Smiling

Yes, this is only a problem with IE AFAIK, because it's tied into the Windows OS so closely. You could have 10 different versions of NS if you wanted to (same goes for Mozilla, Opera, etc.) - they work like any other program.

I still haven't got around to installing Netscape 6.2 but I did notice this tidbit from their FAQ:

*****************************

Can I run both Netscape 6.2 and an earlier Communicator or Navigator version simultaneously?

You can download, install, and simultaneously use Netscape 6.2 without affecting previous installations of earlier Communicator versions of Netscape software. Communicator refers to any Netscape Navigator product with a version number less than 6.0. Installing 6.2 will overwrite earlier versions of Netscape 6. Note that if you read email using the "POP" protocol, and you do not choose to "Leave messages on server" (Edit, Mail/News Account Settings), messages you retrieve in Netscape 6.2 will not be downloaded to other mail programs (such as Communicator.)

*****************************

Bottom line being that it does not look like you will be able to have multiple Netscape versions from 6.0 onward
