Mozilla Firebird and Netscape Falter on XP

I have three browsers on my PC at this time: Netscape 7.02, Mozilla Firebird 0.6 and Internet Explorer 6. The operating system is Windows XP.

Very often Firebird and Netscape will have to close because of some "error" reported by Windows XP. (This usually happens when I have to enter data on a site.) A warning box flashes on the screen, along with an option to "send in" the error code to Miscrosoft. Ths never happens with IE.

Is this XP's method of stopping the use of non-Microsoft browsers? Has anyone else received this message while using alternate browsers with XP?

Thanks, as always,

Roy

I've never had that problem with Opera 7.

Netscape, and mozilla etc have a built in error reporting system (can be disabled and asks before actually sending) I've actually used it quite a bit of late, having big problems with mozilla and flash, as well as running out of resources.
Using firebird at the moment on win98se
