Can loud speakers next to a pc screen damage it?

I have a set of 600 watt speakers the neighbours hate Laughing out loud
the screen gives a wavy effect up the sides of the screen when I have it on level 4 or higher (higher than 7 and everything on the desk jumps around) max is 11

On a good day I usually have it on 5 or 6 depending on the music, the waves get a lil annoying but the neighbours probably say that when I try sing along with the tunes Wink.

Can the waves damage the screen? my guess it probably would over time

Anyone ever killed a screen from music?
I know you can kill a fish tank with it (breaks the sealed joints)

They can mess the screen up if they are not shielded. Computer speakers are nearly all shielded. Audio speakers are not. I don't know if they can do permanent damage to your monitor, now your hearing maybe. Basically that big electromagnet in the speaker interferes with the monitor. I once had a customer that had the same thing happen to their screen because they had an oscillating fan on it. Magnets can also do damage to hard drives so you might move them away a bit.

I have speakers placed next to my monitor, but I have them moved as far forward (towards me) as possible. There's less interference as the backs of the speakers are shielded more than the faces. Sometimes if they're moved back, they do cause a little colour variation at the edges of the screen as well as wavy distortion.

One thing I did once while playing around was degauss while the colour distortion was in effect, and all that did was cause it to stick even when the speakers were removed. Had to degauss again with the speakers in field to clear it. I'm not sure what the mechanics behind that are, though.

They are pc speakers but placed at the back of the moniter, the base is under and to the side of the desk.

I only do short burts (one whole CD max) loud, never allow my ears to get ringy
