image display problem IE6.0
I have been having trouble with images not displaying for the past week and it has progresively gotten worse. I upgraded from IE 5.0 to IE 6.0 about two months ago and have had no trouble until this started. I am not sure exactly what is going on.
Here is a screen shot of the Microsoft site and a screen shot of The Webmaster Forums so that you can see exactly what is happening. I hope someone can help me with this. It is rather difficult browsing with no images.
I peeked at the microsoft support for IE 6.0 earlier and it said something about Nortons firewall causing this but I don't have the firewall. Only the Nortons antivirus. I am headed back to the microsoft site now to look into this further but if anyone has a quick suggestion I would be most grateful.
Oh, I don't know if this will mean anything but I can refresh the page if the images aren't showing up and some of them will appear...refresh again and a few more will appear. Sometimes they will all finally show up but sometimes the page will completely go away and I will the Page Cannot Be Displayed error.

Sounds like its timing out, have you emptied your cache lately (temporary internet folder)?

Yes, I empty it several times a week. I have emptied history, temporary internet, done a disk defrag, and re-booted. I just downloaded Opera so that I could see what I was doing. It is as thought IE6 has shot its wad.
I went to the knowledge base at MS and it seems as though others are having the same problem but I couldn't find any solutions as to what to do.
One other thing that I forgot to mention...my outlook express sometimes wont download my email. it gives an error message. I believe that the image display problem and outlook express and Page Cannot be displayed are all connected somehow. It all started at the same time.
I thought about re-installing IE6. Do you think that might work? If I do re-install...do I need to uninstall IE6 first or can you do that?
Hey....I like this Opera. The ad at the top sucks though.

This post is for future reference just in case someone else has this problem.
I went to add/remove programs to remove IE 6.0 and it gave me an option to repair IE 6. I chose that and believe that has fixed my problem. Images are displaying properly now.
Toodles~~ I am off to play with Opera now.
