I have a question
I am wondering about this!
I use windows 98. When I click on "My Computer", I can then click on "Web Folders", and add or delete files from my website.
My questions are: Is this only possible because the host has FP extensions? Can I do this with a host that is not running FP extensions? If so, shouldn't this bypass the need for an FTP client??
I am asking this, because I am thinking about weaning myself from Front Page, and taking complete control of my code. Im I stupid for even thinking about this??
Please let me know if you know the answers to any of this questions,
Peace,
Webmaster Mike

hmm, I never even noticed that was there before. I cna't use it to connect to any of my sites. I don't even see an option for setting up login information.
If you get yourself WS_FTP Pro and turn on Explorer Integration, you can easily access your sites through either My Computer or Windows Explorer - Very handy.
Recent versions of HomeSite have this feature as well.

Hi Mike,
If you would rather use Internet Explorer than a "real" FTP client, you could always create a shortcut on your desktop linked to "ftp://username:password@yoursite.com/". However, I suggest you use a real FTP client. My personal favorite is FlashFXP.
