How to turn off Internet Explorer search?
My IE has been intruded by some scumbag software, such that everytime I type in an address not starting with "www.", my IE will go to a Search Engine and search for that address. It's getting on my nerves.
2 questions here:
1) How do I prevent software from being intrusively installed on my computer when I visit a website?
2) How do I turn that search thing off? I've set my Internet Options to "Do not search from Address Bar", but it still won't work.
My Windows doesn't allow me to uninstall IE.
Thanks.

In IE, click on Tools/Internet Options/Advanced, scroll down to When Searching, check Do not search from the address bar and click ok. You might also head over to Spybot Search and Destroy, install it and run a check on it. Some spybots/trojans like Bonzi Buddy will take control of your Internet searches.
